SIMTANDA is a newly started online gallery, which rents and sells innovative art to clients who appreciate innovative art works.

Why must life be so boring? Should our lives not offer more inspiration? Where do we get hold of art that is worth looking at?

SIMTANDA works with the best and the most innovative artists in the world and we are constantly expanding our artist stable with new Supper creative artistic souls. Put it mildly, we have only artists who are abreast of new trends and twists in the art universe.

It must be said that an "innovative work of art" rarely receive positive or constructive criticism by the media and the press. It is almost a natural law that it is receivedwith contempt, ignorance as well as incomprehension or ridicule. A good exampleamong others is our own artist Hans Simtanda Caspersen and his debut on the art scene back in 2002 at the Artists' Autumn Exhibition at the Free ExhibitionBuilding.

The following 2 MIXED MEDIA pictures are painted as well as drawn by HansSimtanda Caspersen and was admitted in 2002 at the Autumn Art Exhibition.

The text below is from a newspaper article in POLITIKEN set CULTURE section published Thursday 24th October 2002 by art critic Peter Michael Hornung:

It lags slightly

2002 is not a great year for the Autumn Art Exhibition. Maybe it's because the censors have cut more than the bone.

Paint retailers are reporting about better times and more customers. The symptoms are clear: The painting has returned. Not the old painting, which often remained within the boundaries of a subject and style, but a different painting. Actually it is not rare, that one and the same artist talk today with more than one tongue without tripping over the words. It should be no wonder: The hybrid multi-cultural pattern that exists outside of a home’s four walls has naturally manifested itself in today’s art as it cuts and confronts between pluralism and cross cultural signs and symbols. Bjorn Tonny Jørgensen's painting "Pattern Pupil II" at this year’s Autumn Art Exhibition, where a few lines of Arabic characters are framed by four French lilies, is an example of that "something" from Islam and "something" from Europe might be assimilated, but not integrated. There are many examples of this pluralistic state of affairs: with Hans Simtanda Caspersen, Lisbeth Eugenie Christensen, Kirsten Rotboll, Niels Nielsen and others.

It is rather the rule than the exception that a painting is figurative without being too abstract. It can display two girls on skates, clinging to each other, as on Valentine Helleshøjs motive, but that does not mean that the same surface do not also have room for more obscure clue stylish touches. But the figurative eye catcher has nothing to do with the New Realism movement; it's more comic simplified formulas for the description of reality, which is used by Søren Birch in his three poster-like images of various types of driving. Or you see it in the technological chaos where Jens Robert Jørgensen decoratively and with great care has spelled out in his painting. The last one is with Carl Johan Sennels hexagons '3 ', where the frame is attached to the image and has the strongest expression. It is among the exhibition's funniest pictures.

Often the idea is all-important, as in the photo artist Bodil Nygaard Jensen's series "Gladsaxe". The photographer must have been visiting different apartments in the same large Copenhagen apartment complex. But it gives a funny effect to present a series of shots of something that could be the same living room only every time fitted with new furniture and a completely different decor. Just is the connection with portrait photographs, which is the second part of the project and is not entirely clear. In Autumn Art Exhibition's photo page must Lene Benikes interior studies of internally lit curtains should also be highlighted, very beautiful. Another idea that has run through with consistency is Morten Steen Hebsgaard environment with birdhouses made of wood. Especially the tree with bird boxes of wood is a funny idea. And while we are in nature, attention is drawn to Christina Bredahl Duelund sculpture installation of a recumbent figure on an artificial lawn, surrounded by trees and the sound of birdsong that chirp through the Autumn Art Exhibition's halls.

In short: 2002 is not a great year for Autumn Art Exhibition. Enough is purified inexorably in amongst the submitted works, but the quality is so high that only approx. hundred works have been allowed to slip. Villumsen's wooden building. It's nothing. It is rather very little. The exhibition gives a distorted glimpse of what is happening in contemporary art. Video installations and video art is conspicuous by its absence, probably as a result of the debutants not having the financial capacity to participate in areas where the artistic expression makes use of the variety in technological and electronic hardware.
